1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

“A lady’s imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.”  ― Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice
is a romantic novel by Jane Austen. This novel was published on 28th Jan 1813 by T. Egerton whitehall in United Kingdom.

The story is about Elizabeth Bennet and Fitz william Darcy, a heartwarming story of their complicated societal norms creating the relationship from arrogance, wittiness, humor and then turning it into a perfect love story of two different souls.

Jane Austen’s starting dialogue “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife” is a sentence which is filled with so much of  irony , wittiness and fun!

The novel revolves around  marrying for love, not for money, despite the social pressures coming from family and others to be married to a good or better say a wealthy Man.

It is the best sociological studies in early nineteen century relating to British loyalty and society. Where title, rank, fortune, and good looks etc were the requirements of an approved marriage much more than love.

The writing style is so classic  of Jane Austen. She had created a character with her exceptional writing skills and her remarkable creativity in developing her characters of Elizabeth with an opinionated, strong and witty heroine and a  misunderstood man who has their fair share of prejudices and pride to overcome in their complicated relationship.

The novel was written during the British Regency period.

You may not find this wonderful Novel as relevant today as two hundred years ago, but still there are so many traces of such societies throughout the world, even today.

2.Dreaming of you  by Lisa Kleypas

dreaming of you
source : Google

Dreaming of you was published on 1st Jan 1994 and again on 30th June 2015 by Avon.

A Romantic book Dreaming of you where Derek Craven’s character is so amazing that you can read this book many time. Though it’s fiction, but it inspires an individual to rise from the mire and eventually be a success not only in business, but all the way through in finding and settling down with a good woman who can serve to bring him to a higher level than he could have risen without her influence.

This is a kind of story of Derek Craven and Sara Fielding. In Lisa Kleypas’ words a Derek Craven’s character:

Derek’s a self-made man, having worked his way up from the gutter and has seen too much and done too much to the point he’s completely jaded. Sara’s a likable, realistically independent country mouse who’s small-village decency and respectability provokes Derek into wanting to be a better man. It’s a redemption tale through and through.Sara is brave, steady, but unafraid of life and what it brings to her.  It feels as if he will stop at nothing to get what he wants and it certainly seemed to work for him considering his beginnings and his later successes.

One of the best historical romances in existence.

A must read!!

3 A Kingdom Of Dreams by Judith McNaught

Kingdom of dreams
Kingdom of dreams

A Kingdom of Dreams was New York Times bestselling historical romance novel. It has been written during the early 16th century. It was written on 1st March 1989 by American Author Judith McNaught and was published by Pocket Books in United States.

Tough Heroine meets the Warrior Hero. The character are described as Jennifer Merrick who is the feisty daughter of a Scottish laird. Royce Westmoreland, the “Black Wolf”, sent by the King of England to wage war against the Scotland.

Jennifer Merrick does not surrender to Royce Westmoreland known as “The Wolf,” his very name strikes terror in the hearts of his enemies when Jennifer Merrick was abducted from her convent school. But Jennifer have nothing to do with the English warrior who holds her captive.

A Kingdom of Dreams a Romantic book is my favorite place. You can plan a kingdom of your own. A kingdom of dreams—a place where things would be just the way you want them to be.  Judith McNaught is such an amazing and  sensitive writer reminding us of the power of love for as always. A KINGDOM OF DREAMS will stay in your heart forever. It has all kind of emotions, incredibly funny too. Some parts of the book  are extremely sad. The most beautiful part of the book is when Jennifer finally surrenders to Royce and their love conquers all obstacles. This is a wonderful book.

Romantic Books | Romance in Books

This book is complicated with the relationship between Royce and Jennifer. In a world of violence and war, both Jennifer and Royce really want peace, but are constantly pulled toward discord and violence. Royce is a hero whose gentle qualities are revealed  throughout the story. He makes serious mistakes which threatens his relationship with Jennifer and he takes action to make reparation and to draw his wife back to him. His willingness to treat Jennifer as an equal is something that develops through the novel.

This novel has definite emotional development and movement for the characters which makes the ending satisfying. McNaught writes the most breathtaking kisses I have EVER read. From just a single kiss, you sense such an incredible ardor! Just read this book and experience it all for yourself. You must read!
